It’s been three days since our water ran dry
some are slowly losing their will to linger among the living
and the horrific sounds coming from the streets
are growing more restless by the hour
Our grip on existence fading
not many of us believe anymore
and like tiny rays of light between the cracks in stone
our next steps are barely discernible
Tomorrow I will go out myself
Might be that the fog has lifted just enough
or maybe I will not return
and the long-awaited dusk will settle at least
One last time, last sacrifice
We are near the lair of the dragon
The path will open for a flash of an eye
And then all the bridges collapse
No more souls stray our way anymore
only the tainted storm our gates now

Standing on a cliff
Harsh cold wind stinging my face
The voice of my demise creeping upon me from behind the horizon
I remembered what it was like to feel alive
